KOH TENG HUAT
是一位自学成才的刀画艺术家与电影演员,被誉为“马来西亚刀画家”。他以油画刀厚涂技法著称,运用强烈而豪迈的笔触与鲜明色彩,描绘自然风景与乡土人文,作品层次丰富、充满情感力量,深受收藏家喜爱。多年来,他在马来西亚及海外举办多场个展与联展,并积极推动乡土艺术发展,创立浮罗山背艺术协会,培育年轻艺术人才。其刀画曾用于慈善义卖,累计筹款超过70万马币,回馈社会。近年来,古天发跨界电影,主演本地温情电影《好好再一起》,并入围第34届马来西亚电影节最佳新男演员五强,展现艺术家在不同领域的卓越表现与影响力。 Koh Teng Huat, also known as Agu, is a self-taught Malaysian palette knife artist and film actor from Balik Pulau, Penang. Widely regarded as a pioneer of knife painting in Malaysia, he is known for his bold impasto technique, using thick layers of oil paint and expressive strokes to capture natural landscapes and local cultural scenes. His works are rich in texture, emotion, and visual impact, earning recognition from collectors both locally and internationally. Over the years, he has held numerous solo and group exhibitions and founded the Balik Pulau Art Association to nurture emerging artists and promote cultural heritage. His artworks have raised over RM700,000 through charity auctions. In recent years, he expanded into film, starring in the Malaysian movie “You Are My Son,” and was nominated among the Top 5 Best New Actor at the 34th Malaysian Film Festival, marking a significant milestone in his cross-disciplinary artistic journey.
